2015 Election: INCE to Test Smart Card Readers in 12 States

2015 Election – The Independent National Electoral Commission, (NEC) will today, test the card readers that will be used on the 2015 general elections.
The scheduled field-testing of the Smart Card Readers,SCRs, according to the commission, would hold in 225 polling units and 358 voting points across the 12 Registration Areas (i.e. Wards) in 12 states of the Federation.

Mr Kayode Idowu,the Chief Press Secretary to INEC chairman, Prof. Attahiru Jega, listed the 12 affected registration areas to be:

1. Anambara State

2. Rivers State

3. Ekiti State

4. Ebonyi State

5. Kano State

6. Taraba State

7. Kebbi states.

8. Lagos State

9. Delta State

10. Bauchi State

11. Niger  State

12. Nasarawa states.

The Affected Registration Areas in the Local Government Areas (LGAs) of the 12 states include:

  • Port Harcourt City (Rivers)
  • Abakaliki (Ebonyi)
  • Ado Ekiti (Ekiti)
  • Gassol (Taraba)
  • Kumbotso (Kano)
  • Bunza (Kebbi)
  • Kokona (Nasarawa)
  • Shiroro (Niger)
  • Ikeja (Lagos)
  • Aguata (Anambra)
  • Oshimili South (Delta)
  • Jama’are (Bauchi),
