Kerry: US Fight Against ISIL Will Last for Years

The Washington’s military campaign against ISIL will take years and will stop when the terrorist group is incapacitated, said by John Kerry, the US Secretary of state.He said that two pillars of the US strategy is forming an inclusive government in Iraq and building an anti-ISIL coalition.

Kerry made it known in the US fight against ISIL, that more than 50 nations have already agreed to join the coalition to help defeat ISIL, He told the Senate Foreign Relation Committee on Wednesday that the offensive will not be brief and it will take not less than two years to end.

During an interview with the US president today, president Barack Obama said that the US military will expand its bombing attack against ISIL terrorist beyond Iraq and Launched airstrikes in Syria. He also noted that ISIL made a major strategic error by killing American journalist James Foley and Steven Sotloff.

The ISIL terrorists , were initially trained by the CIA in Jordan in 2012 to destabilize the Syrian Government, has now took control of large parts of Syria’s northern territory. They have sent its fighters into Iraq in June, and seize large amount of land thereby straddling the border between the two countries.
