Helicopter Crash kills Nine People in Mansehra – Nine people has been killed in military helicopter that crashed in Srikot area of Mansehra district, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.
Police Officer in Mansehra District Najeebur Rehman confirmed the incident, saying that not less than nine people onboard the copter had died. He said relief and rescue teams are on their way to the crash site.
Following the statement by an ISPR official, the helicopter, which was carrying medical supplies, had taken off from Chaklala, Rawalpindi, and was heading to Gilgit.
Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Information Minister Mushtaq Ghani also confirmed that the crashed helicopter belonged to the army, adding that the site of the crash was a mountainous area, which could hamper rescue efforts.
Meanwhile, Prime Minister Nawaz Sharif has expressed deep grief and sorrow over the helicopter crash near Mansehra, he expressed his condolences over the loss of life in the incident, and commiserated with the families of the deceased on this tragic incident.
