Nigeria Records Another Ebola Case in Lagos State

The minister of health, Onyebuchi Chukwu, has confirmed that Nigeria has recoded another Ebola case.

Chukwu confirmed that the new case is the fiance of one of the primary contacts of the index case, Patric Sawyer.

Patric Sawyer is the Liberian-American who brought the virus into Nigeria from Liberia were the virus originated from.

The new case now brought the total number of Ebola cases to 19 in nigeria with the total of 7 people already dead and number of 10 others fully recovered from the virus.

Chukwu also noted that the sister of the Port Harcourt doctor, Ikechukwu Enemuo who treated one of Sawyer’s primary contact in a hotel secretly, has fully recovered and has been discharged from the hospital.

The minster also pointed out that the total number of individuals under screening  in Lagos state has reduced to 27 while  that of Port Harcourt has 477

He added that 5 other people have been discharged from Port Harcourt following the complication of 21 days observation period.

The minister also denied the rumors of an outbreak of the disease in any other states in Nigeria apart from Lagos state and Port Harcourt, river state.

Meanwhile nigeria has only one Ebola patient, that’s the wife of Mr. Enuemuo of which she is now under treatment  and she is responding to treatment.
