The 2014 June/July National Examination Council (NECO) has been released. The registrar and Chief Executive officer of the council, Professor Promise Okpala who announced the result in Minna said 74.30 percent of the candidate made five credits and above generally.
He said that 52.29 percent of the candidate that sat for the 2014 June/July Senior Secondary School Certificate Examination (SSCE), passed at credit level in five subject including English and Mathematics.
Giving the summary of the results, prof. Okpala said that out of the 989,622 candidate who sat for the examination, 72.85 percent scored credit level and above in English while 69.49 percent made similar grades in Mathematics. In sciences, 72.86% of candidate that sat for Chemistry had credits, while 69.49% made credits in physics, 67.83 made credit grade in Biology.
The registrar also made it known that efforts of the council at reducing examination malpractices paid off as low as 0.44% of those who sat for the examination were involved in malpractices.
A comparative analysis of past results show a steady improvement in results over the past three years posting the best results in the current year.
