Husband and Wife Buried On The Same Day In Anambara State

What is life to you when you are living and how well will you be celebrated when dead? This was the case of the Late Mrs Josephine Nwakaego Igwilo and the Late Mr Bennett Okafor Igwilo Okemmiri Amichi (Ogbuefi) from Amichi Nnewi south of Anambra State.

Late Mrs Josephine Nwakaego Igwilo died on the 20th of May 2020 at the age of 73 while her husband Late Mr Bennett Okafor Igwilo Okemmiri Amichi (Ogbuefi) died on the 16th of July 2020 at the age of 88.

Until their death, they had 9 children among which is Mrs Ifeyinwa Obianuju Ekoyo wife of colonel FN Ekoyo From Ikwo local government Area of Ebonyi State, and 19 grandchildren.

The burial of both Mr and Mrs Okafor Igwilo was on the 25th of September 2020 in the family compound at Amichi in Nnewi south local government area of Anambra state with many distinguished guests in attendance.

The burial was a perfect definition of Celebration Of Life since both couples died at an old age with grown-up children who buried them in a grand style.

In attendance were Major General IM Yusuf, Major General RO Yusuf, Major General AO Adetayo, Major General EN Njoku, Major General TA Gagariga, Major VO Offiong, Air Vice Marshall PO Jemitola, Rear Admiral NJ Bala, Rear Admiral VC Okeke, Brig General JA Lawoyin, Brig General IM Jalo, Brig General VD Beryro, Brig General W Owiriwa, Navy Captain Olawuyi, and Navy Captain K Aina.

Furthermore, wives of 15 other Generals including the wife of the GOC 2 Division Major General AB Omosoje and the wife of Major General OR Owolabi the Principal Staff Officer to the Chief of Defence Staff amongst others witnessed the burial.

Also, top Federal and State Government Politicians such as the likes of Honourable Chinedu Ogah Member representing Ezza South/Ikwo Federal Constituency as well as many high profile businessmen stormed the burial.

May their souls and the souls of all the faithful departed through the mercies of God rest in peace, Amen.
