The Korean Government Scholarship is open for international students for undergraduates studies. The program supports the upcoming leaders and promotes international cooperation in education by setting up this program.
It allows international students to come to Korea for an opportunity to receive advanced studies at higher educational institution.
The Eligibility for this scholarship includes;
- The individual must have graduated from high school or about to graduate from high school as of March 1st 2017
- Applicants should not hold Korean citizenship
- Should be under 25 years of age
- Must maintain a second class upper GP
- Must be in good health – mentally and physically

The duration for the scholarship is 5 years. One year is used to study the Korean language and four years for the degree course you applied for.
The scholarship covers your flight ticket and a monthly allowance of 800,000KRW per month. It also takes care of your accommodation and all admission fees required. It gives you a medical insurance fee of 20,000KRW per month.
How to Apply For Korean Government Scholarship
You cannot apply directly to NIIED. Applicants are to submit their applications either to the Korean Embassies around the world or to the partnering universities in Korea (i.e. 1st Selection Institutions).
You should contact one of the 1st Selection Institutions (90 Overseas Korean Embassies or designated Korean Universities) and submit your application.
The deadline for this scholarship is from October to November and it runs yearly.
