Luka Modric wins 2018 ballon d’Or – After a decade of the Ballon d’Or passing like a baton between two of football favorite players, the award has finally changed hands. The 2018 ballon d’Or was held on Monday, 3rd of December 2018 night at the Grand Palais, Paris (one of the locations used in mission impossible fallout).
Modric who plays at Real Madrid as a midfielder has been exceptional for both his club and country this year, after helping Croatia to reach the final of the 2018 FIFA world cup. This year will be the first time in a decade that anyone different from Lionel Messi of Barcelona or Cristiano Ronaldo of Juventus Turin has taken the cup home.
The 2018 Ballon d’Or award will surely be one to remember with the Croatian bagging the price. It will also be spectacular for real Madrid as it will mean they have the world best player in their ranks once again.
