Most countries in the world today has maritime institutions where people come to study marine-related course. Courses like marine engineering, petroleum and gas engineering and even fisheries and geology can be studied in this university.
Well, up until now most institutions on Nigeria provide maritime courses as part of their general course, but that will change in April 2018. After being accredited by the Nigeria university commission, the Nigerian Maritime University will commence its 2017/2018 academic session in April.
The university will provide the numerous amount of secondary leavers in Nigeria with an opportunity to continue their education with various degrees in marine-related courses.

If you are interested in studying at the maritime university, you will need to know what course they are offering and all about the school.
Nigerian maritime university is located in Okeronko community, Delta state. It will be starting out with three basic faculties with will offer a number of courses for now. The faculties and their courses include;
Faculty of transport: natural science, marine economics and finance, port management and transport logistics management.
- Faculty of engineering: mechanical engineering, petroleum and gas engineering, marine engineering, civil engineering, and electrical engineering.
- Faculty of environmental management: fisheries and aquaculture, marine geology, meteorology and climate change, and environmental management.
The university will kick-off with 1,300 prospective staffs ad 600 applicants.
