Real Madrid Wins UEFA Champions League Final
Real Madrid has restated its case as the world’s best soccer club on Saturday after beating the Italian champion Juventus, 4-1, in the Champions League final in Cardiff, Wales.
Cristiano Ronaldo scored in the 20th and 65th minutes while Carlos Casemiro scored in the 61st.
Then, the 21-year-old substitute Marco Asensio added the capper by turning in a cross in the 90th minute. Mario Mandzukic scored Juventus’ sole goal in the 27th minute.
This has made Real Madrid the first team to repeat in the Champions League era, and the first to win consecutive titles in the competition since A.C. Milan in 1989 and 1990, when the tournament was known as the European Cup.
