18 Year Old Girl Dies As Hurtling Car Hits Crowd Injuring 22 Others
Tragedy hits Times Square, on Thursday, 18th May as a speeding car runs into crowd killing an 18 year old girl injuring 22 other citizens.
The driver identified as Richard Rojas is a 26 year old and a former member of the U.S Navy. He has been accused twice before this incident for driving while intoxicated DWI.
He had tried running after the accident and turned aggressive when the cops tried to arrest him.
According to witnesses that were present, he had driven a red Honda sedan against traffic onto the sidewalk, hitting pedestrians around 11:54 am. It finally came to a halt when it crashed into a pole at 45th street Broadway.
A law enforcer reported that the driver was taken into custody and is being tested for alcohol. The cops are trying to dismiss any idea that the accident may be a terrorist attack.
People rushed to help the injured victims that were lying on the pavement. Among the victims was a 18 year old girl and her 13 year old sister who was gravely injured. Reports have it that four people are in a critical condition.
